Description:

We are sadly selling our beloved Porgy Patrol as our time in Aus draws to a close. We bought him in Brisbane in August and have travelled and lived in him for the last seven and a half months.

We have travelled to some remote places (we spent 2 months on Moreton Island working on an oyster farm) and as such I've had a lot of work done on Porgy to ensure he is very reliable. The work we've had done includes:

-new battery

-4 new tyres

-new universal joint

-new head gasket

-machined the head

-new radiator

-new water pump

-new spark plugs

-all new hoses

-new starter motor

-tuned to run well on LPG

The car has been serviced every 5,000kms including oil change, new coolant etc. I have the receipts for each new part and every service.

The car comes with comprehensivel AWN warranty (pays for any repairs) and RAC breakdown until August 2016.

The best thing about having a 4x4 instead of a campervan is that you can go anywhere - to all the very remote free camp siites and drive on the beach!

He has a very comfy full length bed and a kitchen with working sink and storage underneath the bed. The front seats flip forward and a hinged section of the bed folds forward to entend the bed to 6 foot in length.

The back seats are in storage in Melbourne and the necessary bolts come with the car. It's very easy and takes about an hour to remove the bed and kitchen and put the back seats back in the car. All you need is a screwdriver and a spanner.

Porgy has a new CD player with radio and a USB input to play the music off your phone. You can charge two devices at once using the cigarette lighter adapter included and the CD player. He comes with large sand tyres and has had a lift to make sure he can get over any obstacles. He has a Safari Snorkel and can go pretty much anywhere. He also comes with heavy duty kangaroo bars and spot lights which are fitted to a nice high amp fuse running from a seperate selector switch connected to the full beam headlights.

Porgy comes with everything you need to get travelling and runs on LPG so you can cover lots of KMs very cheap (LPG is around 58c a litre!!). Included with the car is:

-large Esky

- 2 gas stoves with spare gas canisters

-2 large storage boxes for under the bed. We use one for food and one for clothes.

-pots, pans, cutlery, plastic glasses, kettle, mugs, colinder, mixing bowl, bowls, plates, mugs, cooking utensils, french press for real coffee in the mornings!

- jump leads, jack, spare wheel and good condition tyre, snatch strap for towing

-roof racks incuding ratchet straps and bungee leads for strapping things down

-2 camping chairs and a fold out table

-bedding including sleeping bags, sheets, 4 pillows

-axe for chopping fire wood

-fishing rod to catch your own dinner

-snorkel and fins for looking at the fishies

-bucket and sponge to wash him down

-towels

-water butts (2 ten litre containers - one that connects to the sink tap)

-dustpan and brush to keep him clean

-2 jerry cans to carry spare petrol

-Camps 8 book (to find all the good camp sites) and new Garmin SatNav

-tyre gauge and deflator (for driving on the beach!)

-awning and poles and pegs to protect you from the sun and rain

-solar shower

The car comes with Victorian rego until March 2017. I will show you how to refill the oil, coolant, valve lube and power steering fluid. If fluids are checked regularly the car should do another 200,000kms with no issues after having the head rebuilt. It comes with current Road Worthy certificate.

The car runs well on both LPG and petrol but is tuned to run on LPG.

We can give you the details of some great people and jobs in Queensland and Victoria including a fantastic Oyster Farm on Moreton Island and other great jobs if you're interested.

We're currently living and working in Shepparton but are happy to travel to Melbourne or elsewhere in Victoria to find the right new family for Porgy.
