I arrived in Australia at the end of July 2010 and bought my trusty Ford Laser in Cairns for $2200 (I have paperwork to verify this). The car has brought me all the way down the east coast and has plenty of life left in it yet. If you are a backpacker looking for a car to travel in or are just looking for a cheap car, this could be the one for you! Key points:

The paintwork is a bit faded but I think this is to be expected with an older car. The engine runs well and is nice and clean - even the mechanic who worked on the fuel pump said so!
